A Cizhou-type black-glazed bowl

金    磁州窯系黑釉盌

The bowl is well potted with deep rounded sides supported on a low foot. A glaze of lustrous jet-black colour is applied inside and out, thinning to a deep russet colour at the edge of the mouthrim, and finishing irregularly just above the foot. The knife-pared footrim is unglazed, showing the fine grey ware.
