A painted pottery figure of a saddled horse

唐   彩繪陶鞍馬俑

The horse is modelled standing square on a rectangular plinth. A saddle with saddle cloth gathered to each side is thrown over the back. The head faces forwards with ears pricked. Considerable traces of pigment remain, including orange to depict the hogged mane and black to delineate the straps securing the saddle, and the halter. The pottery is of pinkish colour.
